Broadland High School is a rural mixed comprehensive in Hoveton, Norfolk for pupils aged 11 to 16.
Community and campus
Broadland High School is situated on the Broads approximately 7½ miles (12¼ km) north-east of Norwich. The school has close links with the communities which surround it and takes pupils from feeder schools in Rackheath, Salhouse, Neatishead, Horning, Tunstead and Coltishall as well as Hoveton. It consists of 5 teaching blocks, including dedicated music and Design and Technology blocks.
Ofsted and academic performance
Broadland has been regularly judged as "good" for overall performance. In its 2011 inspection Ofsted said, "This is a good school that is improving. Leaders are relatively new in post and have successfully embedded a momentum of improvement that is showing both in achievement and standards. The school has rightly prioritised the improvement of teaching and learning together with accurate and well-developed self-assessment and improvement processes. The school is demonstrating a good capacity for sustained improvement and the governing body supports the school well".[1]
Results for 2013 showed a marked improvement on previous years, with an increase of 9% on last year's A*-C including English and Maths.[2]
