British Summer Time is a music festival sponsored by Barclaycard. It is held over two weekends once a year in London's Hyde Park. It was the first event AEG Live held in Hyde Park since they acquired the rights to host concerts there, and features a wide range of musical genres.

Elton John had been scheduled to perform on Friday 12 July, but he had to cancel due to illness. All tickets were refunded and the event was made free as a one-off.[6]
