Bowtie cotter pin

A bowtie cotter pin is a formed wire fastener that resembles an R-clip, except it positively locks when installed. This keeps them from accidentally falling off or vibrating loose.[1] It was patented by Pivot Point, Inc. on March 23, 1999.[2][3]
