BookEventZ.com is an online venue and banquet booking platform. It is a startup company launched by Harsh Baid and Shriti Chhajed. The Company provides a portal for users to browse through a list of venues and book them online. It provides venue information such as images, price, quotes and availability.[1]
History
The startup company was launched in Mumbai as UrbanRestro.com in 2012. UrbanRestro.com provided services of banquet booking and table reservation in restaurants.[2] It launched an Android application named Urban Restro for users to make reservations.[3] The company then expanded its scope to booking venues and providing services related to organizing events. To reflect the new idea, the company rechristened itself as BookEventz.com in 2015.[4] Presently, it has venue listings in 11 cities across India viz., Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Goa, Vadodra, Surat, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Chennai.
Funding
The company received its seed funding from Harsh Baid, who is also an investor. The Company raised its second level of funding by Mumbai Angels with participation from Singapore Angel Network and Zishaan Hayath (PLV).[5] The funding so obtained will be used for enhancing the portal with the use of latest technology and for marketing campaigns.[6]
Services
Online venue booking is the central service of the company. The portal features venue information like images, quotes, capacity and availability. It also provides users with listings of vendors which cater to event related services. The user can have a virtual tour of venues by using the 360 degree panoramic tool.[7]
