Bombala Shire
Bombala Shire is a local government area in the Monaro region of south-eastern New South Wales, Australia. The Shire includes the town of Bombala, the villages of Delegate, Cathcart, Bibbenluke and the localities of Ando, Bungarby, Craige, Mila, Rockton and Creewah. Bombala is the fifth smallest rural shire in New South Wales, by area.[3]
The Mayor of Bombala Shire Council is Cr. Bob Stewart, an unaligned politician.
Council
Current composition and election method
Bombala Council is composed of seven Councillors elected proportionally as one entire ward. All Councillors are elected for a fixed four-year term of office. The Mayor is elected by the Councillors at the first meeting of the Council. The most recent election was held on 8 September 2012, and the makeup of the Council is as follows:[4]

Fit for the Future
The Mike Baird NSW Government assessment of Bombala found it "unfit". The recommendation is for a merger with adjoining shire councils.
