Bob Goff is the author of the New York Times Best-Selling book Love Does.[3] Bob also provides senior leadership at Goff & Dewalt, LLP as the founding partner.[4] The U.S. Department of State recognizes Mr. Goff as a diplomat [5] and he is known as an Honorary Consul for the Republic of Uganda due to his work with Restore International, a non-profit organization he founded.[6]

Philanthropic work

Bob started Restore International in 2003 to “find daring, productive, and effective ways to fight the injustices committed against children.”[7] Restore International has helped stop forced prostitution in India by arresting over 80 criminals and placing the children in temporary and permanent housing.[8] Restore also built a school, Restore Leadership Academy, that holds over 250 children in the war-torn area of Northern Uganda [9] as well as bringing over 200 trials to court to relieve children of imprisonment without trial.[10] Goff travels to Uganda every 100 days, spending anywhere from 7–10 days each visit talking to judges, making appearances in court rooms, and visiting Restore Leadership Academy.[11] Restore International also works in India, investigating and rescuing underage girls from the bondage of sexual slavery. Restore's work in India has led to the arrest of over 80 violators.[12]

Career

Bob founded Goff and Dewalt, LLP in 1968 as a construction defect attorney.[13] Located in Washington, the firm specializes in construction defect litigation, general counsel, and international rights (through Restore International).[14] Bob is currently an adjunct professor at Point Loma Nazarene University where he teaches a class in business law.[15]

Goff similarly serves as an adjunct professor to Pepperdine University, in both the law school, and the graduate degree programs with courses such as Nonprofit Law in their Global Justice Program.
