Black Rose (BDSM organization)
Black Rose is a BDSM organization based in Washington, D.C. It was founded in June 1987 as a support group for the BDSM, TS and other alternative sexuality communities. The Black Rose hosts, among other things, educational classes addressing BDSM activities, issues, and safety. The Black Rose is a place where alternative sexual expression is welcomed and accepted. The organization also hosts monthly socials and, beginning with BR10 in 1997, an annual national convention for the BDSM community.[1]

Black Rose includes several special interest groups (SIGs):[2]
- Bondage
- Cultural, Arts & Theatre Social (CATS)
- Hypnosis
- Tethers and Feathers, for those interested in tickling
- The Next Generation (TNG), for those aged 18 to 35 and their partners
