Bipul Chettri (Nepali: विपुल क्षत्री) is a Nepali singer/songwriter from Kalimpong, a small town in West Bengal of India. He sings folk music from the Eastern Himalayas with a contemporary indie touch. His debut album, Sketches of Darjeeling, was released in July 2014. [1] He is currently the head of the Arts Department in Vasant Valley School, a leading school in India.

Early life

Chettri was born in Kalimpong, West bengal, India [2] to late Narendra Mohan Chettri. He attended St. Augustine's School, Kalimpong, before graduating from Delhi University. Chettri later attended Trinity College, London to study classical guitar.[3]

Musical career

His debut album Sketches of Darjeeling was released on July 25, 2014, and has been very well received in Nepal, North Bengal, Sikkim, as well as around the world by the Nepali diaspora. He currently heads the art department at Vasant Valley School, Delhi.[4]
