Big Notebook for Easy Piano was the debut release by Murfreesboro, Tennessee band Fluid Ounces. It was recorded in Memphis, Tennessee with producer Ross Rice. Rice had formerly been with the band Human Radio.

The album featured two of the most popular and definitive Fluid Ounces songs, "Shamrock" and "Record Stack." The track "Big Empty" is often cited as one of the band's masterpieces.

While several of the songs were opaque lyrically, "Spill Your Brains" was a not-so-subtle lampooning of Alanis Morissette, and "Liquorish Vampires" was written about Timbs' experiences working in a coffee shop in Murfreesboro.

The album was received very well critically, and was distributed by Caroline Distribution.
