Bidya Sinha Saha Mim is a Bangladeshi actress and model. She was a contestant of 'Lux Channel I' Superstar 2007 and was the winner of the contest. Mim made her debut in Bangladeshi novelist and film maker Humayun Ahmed's film Amar Ache Jol in 2008.[1]

Early life and background

Mim was born in Comilla. Her father Birendra Nath Saha is the head of the Social Welfare Department in Comilla Victoria College.[2] Mim passed her S.S.C from Nawab Faizunnesa Government Girls' High School. Then, she completed her H.S.C from Comilla Victoria College. She has studied in Bengali Department of Southeast University for BA in Bengali (Hons) Course. She has a younger sister called Progga Sinha Saha Momi.[3]

Career

Mim participated in 'Lux Channel I' Superstar in 2007. She was the winner of the contest.[4] During the competition, it was announced that the winner of the contest would be cast in novelist and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed's Dhallywood film Amar Ache Jol under Impress Telefilm Limited. The film was not targeted for wide range of audience and only released in selected film theaters. The film helped Mim to start her acting career.

Her debut TV drama was actor turned director Mahfuz Ahmed's Shesher Kobitar Porer Kobita. Some of her TV dramas (Bengali Natok) are Royal Rahman's Jodha Akbar, Sheikh Selim's A B C, Sheikh Selim and Alam Ashraf's Tini Bujhtey Parlen Je Eta Prem Noy, Mohan Khan's Nil Josnai Kalo Shap, and Mizanur Rahman's Shopnogulo Tai Opurno. In 2009, after two years she came back to Dhallywood film screen with the film Amar Praner Priya, acting with Shakib Khan

In 2012, Mim returned to the silver screen with the film Jonakir Alo, directed by Khalid Mahmud Mithu. The film also stars Emon and Kalyan. Her forthcoming film Kanamachi. It was directed by Mohammed Mostafa Kamal Raj. Her co-stars in this film are Shakib Khan and Chanchal Chowdhury.[5] She has worked in Tollywood with director Raja Chanda.[6]
