Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation or BMC is responsible for the civic infrastructure and administration of Bidhannagar (Salt Lake City) and parts of Rajarhat (suburbs of Kolkata). BMC was constituted in 2015, after merging erstwhile Bidhannagar Municipality, Rajarhat-Gopalpur Municipality and parts of Mahisbathan Gram Panchayat - II.[1] BMC constitutes of 41 wards.
