Bibarrambla allenella

Bibarrambla allenella, the Bog Bibarrambla Moth, is a moth in the Oecophoridae family, and the only species in the genus Bibarrambla. It was described by Walsingham in 1882.^[1] It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from Nova Scotia to Minnesota, North Carolina, New York, Connecticut and Maryland.^[2]

The wingspan is about 19 mm. The forewings are greyish white with numerous specks and mottlings of greyish fuscous, especially on the costal and apical parts of the wing. There are two greyish-fuscous discal dots, each followed by some ochreous scales. There is a row of diffuse greyish-fuscous spots around the apical margin. The hindwings are whitish grey.

The larvae feed on Alnus and Betula species.^[3]
