The Berlin Borough School District is a community public school district that serves students in Kindergarten through eighth grade from Berlin Borough, in Camden County, New Jersey, United States.

As of the 2011-12 school year, the district's one school had an enrollment of 859 students and 63.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.57:1.[1]

The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "DE", the fifth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[3]

Public school students in ninth through twelfth grades attend the Eastern Camden County Regional High School District, a limited-purpose, public regional school district that serves students at Eastern Regional High School from the constituent communities of Berlin Borough, Gibbsboro and Voorhees Township.[4] As of the 2011-12 school year, the district's then two schools had an enrollment of 2,075 students and 138.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 15.04:1.[1]

Awards and recognition

The New Jersey Alliance for Social, Emotional and Character Development (NJASECD) recognized Berlin Community School as 2012 New Jersey School of Character (NJSOC) - honorable mention.[5]

The district was selected as one of the top "100 Best Communities for Music Education in America 2005" by the American Music Conference.[6]
