Belthara Road is a small town with a railway station in the north-western corner of Ballia district of Uttar pradesh.[1] The easternmost extent of this town is up to Chaukiya mod and Tinmuhani (road tri-junction) while the railway station marks its western limits. Between these two, the main market of Belthara is located. At Tinmuhani (officially "Chaudhari Charan Singh Tinmuhani"), one can get means of public transport to travel nearby villages especially on Belthara-Nagara road.
The town has a small bus depot and buses to Sikanderpur, Ballia, and Gorakhpur pass through the town. Approximately 2,000 people travel from the Belthara road station daily.
Villages
- The Bichla pokhra area is the center of town. The area is the sign of pure communal harmony, as one can find Jama Masjid, Madarsa, Musafirkhana, Gandhi Chabutra, Gurudwara, Arya Samaj Yagyashala, Jaiswal Dharmshala and Mandir in close proximity. Women used to worship chati maiya along the pond side. Ram-lila is also organized every year and all the people watch this with enthusiasm. Sarkari Primary school is in this vicinity.
- Chaukia is a village located 3 kilometer from the railway station.
- Patnari: This village is 3.0 km away from Belthara road towards the north. Its population is more than 1000.the main occupation of the people is farming,and business. Its locality is the best thing that plays major role in its development.
MOHD SHABAN,HARDEV,SANJAY SINGH,AND BABU are the people who were known among the people for their kindness. There is a go-green team in the village lead by TARIQUE AZIZ whose main aim is to keep village free from waste like plastics and other toxicants about whom most of the farmers don't know, to avoid farming land being unfertile,and to keep a hygienic climate there.

- Chainpur Gulaura D D Yadav from Chainpur Gulaura is a village located eight kilometers away from the Belthara Road Railway Station.Its population is more than 1000.the main occupation of the people is farming,and business. Its locality is the best thing D D Yadav (DESH DEEPAK) has plays major role in its development and social promotions.
- Sasana Bahadur Pur is a village located eight kilometers away from the Belthara Road Railway Station near Akhop village on the intersection between Belthara Road and Madhuban Highway.[2] Here one can find the famous temple and Taposthali of Swami SantPati Shiv Narayan Shahib.
- Birahara: A King Bala Singh and his emperor there are in this village and so many doctors'Dr. Amar Nath Singh one of famous doctor in that area and resident families belong to spartans community. This village has glory of temple (Sankat Mochan temple).[3]
- Tirnai Khizarpur: This large village is located four kilometers away with a population of 3,000. It is made-up of 7 pura or mohallas of various faiths. The village is known to promote education and sports among its inhabitants. The people are highly educated and live abroad.[3]
- Babhnauli: This is a small village approximately 10 km from Belthara Road. It is mostly populated by Brahmins who mostly are Zamindars (landowners). They are highly educated and some of them live abroad in the United Kingdom.[3]
- Rachhauli: This is a small village approximately 12 km from Belthara Road. It is mostly populated by well-educated Brahmins and Muslims.
- Bithuwa: This village encompasses almost half of the land Belthara Road travels on. The important public places of the town are the bus station, Tin muhani, GMAM inter college, post office, police chauki, telephone exchange and hospital.There is also a Madarsa named Madarsa Al-Gufran Darul Uloom. Bithuwa is situated to the east of the bus station. The population is around 1500.[3]
- Rampur Kanungoyan: This village of the Kayastha community is located 5 km from Belthara Road station. It is on the bank of a canal at Rasra-Belthara Road. It has a high school which serves several neighbouring villages as well.[3]
- Molanapur: This village has a main temple called Shivalla. The nearby village around this town is Tenua. It is located beside Rampur Kanungoyan village. The famous deity here is Deeh Baba and Baram Baba.
- Eksaray: This is an agricultural village.
- Pharsatar This village is located 3 km away Its population is 2,000.Famous house is Ashiyana of Haji Sultan Ahmad.
- Padri: This village is 3 km northwest of the railway station on Sonadih Road and a few miles away from the river Ghaghara. About 500 families live in this village and its northern and western sides are surrounded by a beautiful lake where different kinds of bird come in the monsoon. The village has several old temples which are believed to be a few hundred years old.
- Kakrason: This village is situated near Ubhaon Thana and the Sarayu river. Kayasthas are the majority community in this village.
- Telma Jamaludinpur: According to Census 2011 information the location code or village code of Telma Jamaluddinpur village is 197832. This village is located in Belthara Road Tehsil of Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh, India. Belthara Road is nearest town to Telma Jamaluddinpur village. This village is located 8.2 km away from the Belthara Road Railway Station. This village has a majority of Hindus and a minority of Muslims. This village mainly depends on the weather crops. The village was established in 1713 [area-2.5 km^2, elevation 84 m (276 ft)] and has a population of approximately 3,319 (male 1709, female 1619) (2011).
- Ubhaon: The most famous village in Belthara road area is Ubhaon. The police station is located on Gorakhpur-Bihar highway. There is a beautiful mosque in this village. The population of this village is 2,000. It is near the Ghaghra river.
- Kundail Niyamat Ali: This is the most famous village near Belthara Road town, about 1 km west.This village has a population of about 10,000 with the majority as Muslims. In this village are three mosques. Jama Masjid is very grand and equipped with modern facilities.
- Shahpur Afghan: This village is 5.0 km away from Belthara road towards the east near Koali mohan taal. Its population is more than 5000. The shahpur Afghan is a historical village which came into existence during the Mughal period (Aurengjeb emperor) around 450 years ago. The Muslim families who arrived there were few members and they belonged to Afghan troops. The village having Shahi Maszid and it was built in Mughal Period still having good conditions.
Educational institutes
- D.A.V. Inter college: This is one of the oldest schools in the city for students in the 6th to 12th grade. It is situated next to the rail station near Railway Dhala.
- G.M.A.M Inter college: This is another one of the oldest schools in the city for class 6th to 12th, only for boys. It is situated beside the railway station at Kundail Dhala.
- Shayam Sundari Girls Inter College: One of the oldest and prominent colleges for girls, proudly responsible for the majority of girls' education in this area, from 6th class to 12th.
- Devendra P.G. Degree College: This is for higher education in an area on Belthara to Madhuban road next to Ganesh Seva Sansthan.
- NavJeevan English School: This is the famous senior secondary co-ed school in the town.
- M.M.D.PUBLIC SCHOOL: This is one of the most prominent senior secondary co-ed school with hostel facility in sasana bahadurpur akhop located on belthara madhuban marg.
Places of attraction
Bhageshwari temple, dedicated to the Goddess of the same name, is situated between Ballia and Belthara road. It is the most visited place of worship by the local Hindu people. A one month long annual fair called Sonadih mela is also held here in Chitra navratri, which is quite a popular event in the area.[4]

- Laxmi Narayan Picture Palace: This theater is situated in the main market. It is a favorite pastime place in this locality and a major player of Bhojpuri cinema.
Mohan market at bichla pokhra,few metres from laxmi narayan palace,is famous for jewellery shop and first choice for fashion stores for youngesters.
