Bellevue, Mississippi is an unincorporated community is Lamar County, Mississippi, located on the west side of the Hattiesburg, Mississippi metropolitan area.[1]

In 2014, a group of Bellevue community residents began the process of incorporating the community as a city. Incorporating the city would require approval of two-thirds of the voters in the proposed area.[2][3] As judged by proponents of incorporation, the area has a land area of 15 square miles (39 km2) and a population between 5,000 and 10,000.[4] The proposed location of the city of Bellevue would be west of Hattiesburg, and would encompas the subdivisions of Bellegrass, Bent Creek, Bridgefield, Canebrake, Cumberland, and Sandstone, although "there is no official blueprint for the potential city".[3]
