Beijing Music Festival

The Beijing Music Festival is an annual music festival held in Beijing, China. Founded in 1998 by the Chinese government, the festival is held from mid-October to mid-November. The festival features mainly classical music and jazz music, including opera, orchestral music, chamber music, classical jazz concerts, solo recitals, and choral concerts. Notable performers that have appeared at the festival include Martha Argerich, Kathleen Battle, Jose Carreras, Sarah Chang, Augustin Dumay, Valery Gergiev, Mo Hualun, Lo King-man, Mischa Maisky, Liao Naixiong, Krizysztof Penderecki, Issac Stern, Melvyn Tan, Fou Ts'ong, the Kodaly Quartet, and the New London Consort.[1]
