Behak Maken is a small town located in the Sargodha District ضلع سرگودھا of the Punjab province, Pakistan, that was formed when the area was part of the British Empire. The town is placed 17.5 kilometres (10.9 mi) away from the city of Sargodha and 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) away from Dhreema. Due to the town's ecological site, the British Royal Air Force (RAF) built an airstrip near "godhay wala"[1] that become of great significance to the Pakistan Air Force after the Pakistan Movement independence of Pakistan.

The population of Behak Maken has grown-up rapidly and approximately 75% of the [Maken] reside in the settlement.

History

Behak Maken was founded when Raja Singh first come to the Sargodha district. It is declare that Baba Farid Ganj Shakar appear to Singh to educate him in Islam after which the Raja well-known Permanently in the region with his family as a Muslim. The word ‘‘‘Maykan’’’ came from Urdu word مے کن). They claim descent from the Parmara Rajputs, and spring from the same an cestor as the Dhudhi tribe. The tribe claims to have settled in the Thal,after the end of Arab rule in Sindh. The Hindu king of Kanauj, a Parmar Rajput took possession of the region, and settled his kinsmen, the Maykan. They ruled Mankera for five hundred years. Their alteration to the trust is record during the time of Ghias-ud-din Balban, courtesy of Baba Farid Ganj Shakr.Towards the end of the fifteenth century, the Baloch from Makran flocked into the country in and around Mankera,and subsequently ruled this state for the next three hundred years.

Nature

They are consideration to be courageous and prudent. They have a history of bravery and most of the Maykan’s ancestors were warlords. In the present Pakistan's /Indian's history they have been appointed on important Public positions and some are very prominent politicians.

Demographics

According to the 1998 census of Pakistan the village had a population of 5,513 of which In December, 2011 the population of Behak Maykan was estimated at 8181. About 95% of the people are Sunni Islam.The predominant ethnic population in the village is Punjabi with small communities of Muhajirs and Pashtuns.

Dars e Quran

A Madrisa name as Darul Aloom Muhammadia Ghousya Behak Maykan is held in this village in 2010, at the present time in September, 2012 about 100 to 150 students are studding there with the help of Anjuman-e-taleem ul muslimeen ghousya Bhera Sharif main darul aloom. There are three mosques in this village, known as 1. Jamia Masid 2.Syedan (darbar) wali masjid and main Jamia masjid attached with madrisa.

Economy

The vast field on the town has allowable the farmers to expand a range of crops and animal procreation program. Some of the main crops contain citrus, wheat, rice, and sugar cane which are export to the other cities as well as worldwide. Citrus fruits such as oranges (locally known as kinnows) are main fruits grown in the village.As well as Jaman, Guavas and Mangoes Pears, Dates, Pomegranate, Phalsa and Almond are also grown in minor quantities. Turnip, Onion, Cauliflower, Potatoes and Tomatoes are main vegetables grown in the village. The main livestock for the village include goats, sheep, buffaloes and cattle. as well as The village supports an orange processing factory located Jhang road near 92 moor stop.

Education

Behak Maykan has an Elementary school (Middle) for boys and one primary school for girls. Many students go to University/Collages for their studies at Sargodha and Sahiwal, many kids are study in New Ideal future vision High school (92 Moor) also learning in military institute at Sargodha. Sargodha has several institutions of higher education and several research centers and Sargodha University:

Politics

The political bequest was carried by Syed Nazar Hussain hamdani, who was elected a member of Provence Assembly of Punjab (Naib-Nazim).Ch Allah Bukhsh tula and Ch Muhammad Yar maken are also elected many times as a members of union.

Uras Mubarak

An Urs (program of religious festivities) has been carrying out on 23 to 25 March of every year in the memory of (Late) syed pir Hashim Darya Hamdani. Many followers are come from different cities and villages in Pakistan. Syed Zawar Hussain Shah hamdani is aged personality in Hamdani family. Syed Haji Fakhar Sibtain Hamdani, Syed Noor-e-Saqlain Hamdani and Syed Mujtaba Haider Hamdani are occupational there activities.

Languages

Punjabi is the focal language of the people. Urdu is also spoken.

Athletic competition

Frequently two types of sports competition are played in this rural community, Volleyball and cricket.Cricket competition is conducted every year in the memory of Badar Munir maken (Late),Zulfiqar maken Shaheed and Abdul Latif (Late) in May to July of every year. Syed Safder Zahoor hamdani, Ch Shoukat Zia Maykan, Ch Azhar Hussain  Maykan, Ch Qasim shahzad  Maykan, Syed Mohsin Raza Hamdani  Ch Nayyer Ayaz  Maykan are the producers of these tournaments.
