The Battle of Carrhae took place in 296 or 297,[1] after the invasion of Mesopotamia and Armenia by the Sassanid Shah Narseh. The battle ended with victory for the Sassanids. Two years later Galerius managed to defeat the Sassanids at the Battle of Satala (298).
