Barry Seabourne (birth registered January→March 1947 (age 68–69)[1]) birth registered in Leeds district, is an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1960s and '70s, and coach of the 1980s, playing at representative level for Great Britain, and England, and at club level for Leeds, and Bradford Northern, as a scrum-half/halfback, i.e. number 7, and coaching at club level for Bradford Northern.
Playing career
International honours
Barry Seabourne won caps for England while at Leeds in 1970 against Wales, and France,[2] and won a cap for Great Britain while at Leeds in 1970 against New Zealand.[3]
Challenge Cup final appearances
Barry Seabourne played scrum-half/halfback in Leeds' 11-10 victory over Wakefield Trinity in the 1968 Challenge Cup "Watersplash" final during the 1967-68 season at Wembley Stadium, London on Saturday 11 May 1968.
County Cup final appearances
Barry Seabourne played scrum-half/halfback in Leeds' 2-18 defeat by Wakefield Trinity in the 1964 Yorkshire Cup final during the 1964–65 season at Fartown Ground, Huddersfield on Saturday 31 October 1964, and played scrum-half/halfback, and was man of the match winning the White Rose Trophy in the 22-11 victory over Castleford in the 1968 Yorkshire Cup final during the 1968–69 season at Belle Vue, Wakefield on Saturday 19 October 1968.
Player's No.6 Trophy final appearances
Barry Seabourne played scrum-half/halfback, and was man of the match in Bradford Northern's 3-2 victory over Widnes in the 1974-75 Player's No.6 Trophy final during the 1974–75 season at Wilderspool Stadium, Warrington on Saturday 25 January 1975.
Coaching career
County Cup final appearances
Barry Seabourne was the coach in Bradford Northern's 11-2 victory over Castleford in the 1987 Yorkshire Cup final during the 1987–88 season at Elland Road, Leeds on Saturday 31 October 1987.
