History
Barceloneta metro station started to be built in 1971, in order to service the neighborhood of La Barceloneta, and replacing the old station of Correos (currently abandoned, located between Jaume I and Barceloneta).he construction was slow because of some problems like the explosion occured in November 1973.
Finally, the station opened on March 15, 1976 at 3 PM, with visitors like Joaquín Viola, by then mayor of Barcelona. In 2008, the station was made available for disabled people.
