Barara is a town in Ambala, Haryana, India. It is about 87 kilometers from the state capital, Chandigarh. Maharishi Markandey University is just 5 kilometers away from Barara. Hindi, Punjabi, and Haryanvi are all well spoken and understood by people of Barara. most of the population of barara is Punjabi and Hindu. in 2015 barara has announced to come under municipal committee.
