Banjane

Banjane (Macedonian: Бањане) or Banjani (Serbian: Бањани) is a village in the Čučer-Sandevo municipality in the north of the Republic of Macedonia. The village lies some 15 kilometers north of Skopje, in the region of Skopska Crna Gora. The total population numbers 597 (2002 census), and is composed out of Macedonians (294; 49%), Serbs (288; 48%), and others (5). Banjane is best known for its three churches, St. Nicetas and St. Elias from 14th century and St. George from 16th century.
