Bangladesh Islami Front (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ ইসলামী ফ্রন্ট) is one of the leading Islamic political party those support the 1971 freedom war in Bangladesh. In the 2001 parliamentary election the party launched 16 candidates. Together they gathered 29,002 votes (0.05% of the national vote), but no seats were won by the party.[2] This party is a political party of Sunni Islam who recognize sunni four Schools of Islamic jurisprudence as Hanafi, Safi, Maleki and Humbali and Sufi tarika as Quaderya, Chistya, Nakshabandya, Shohrawardya and Mujaddedya. They think that they are in true path of Islam specially followers of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat. Its student front is Bangladesh Islami Chattra Sena founded on 21 January 1980 though it was founded on 21 December 1990. This party participated in the general election of 1991. This party is an anti group of global terrorism and so-called Islamic extremism.
