Bang is the third studio album by Brazilian singer Anitta, released on October 13, 2015 by Warner Music.[1] The album contains 14 new songs plus an acoustic version of the single "Deixa Ele Sofrer".[2] Primarily a pop album, Bang explores R&B, reggae, samba and funk carioca. On the morning of October 9, 2015, four days before the official release, the album was made available for download on a Chinese domain site. The original link was soon taken down, but, due to the rapid spread the disk was hosted on dozens of other sites to download.[3] The album features guest appearances from MC Nego do Borel, Vitin, Jhama, Dubeat, MC Duduzinho and rap group ConeCrewDiretoria. Production for the album took place during 2014 to 2015 at several recording studios and was handled by Anitta, Jefferson "Mãozinha" Junior and Umberto Tavares. The album reached gold disc only in the pre-sales with over 40,000 copies sold.[4]
Background
Soon after the release of the latest single from the album Ritmo Perfeito, "No Meu Talento" Anitta confirmed that it was working on new songs for the successor of the same project.[5] The styles of the tracks were kept secret until "Deixa Ele Sofrer", the first single work of music, because previous officials had not been disclosed what it would treat the album. Excerpts of some songs like "Me Leva a Sério" had leaked on the Internet since mid-June. In September, the singer talks about his new album: "I am very focused on my CD, comes a new Anitta there and i will change my look", also commenting on their dream of having an international career and the possibility of realizing it in the year following.
Singles
Two singles were released for the album. "Deixa Ele Sofrer", released on July 16, 2015 as a digital download. The track reached the top ten on the Billboard Brasil Hot 100, peaking at number seven.[6] The title track of the album, "Bang" was released on October 9, 2015.[7]
Critical reception
The album received overall positives reviews from music critics.[8]
Commercial performance
On the chart dated December 5, 2015, Bang debuted on the Brazil ABPD Top Álbuns chart at number 3.[9] The album sold 40,000 copies in its first week.[4] As of
February 3, 2016 the album has sold over 90,000 copies in the Brazil.[10]
