Baltic State Technical University "Voenmeh" D.F.Ustinov (Russian: Балтийский государственный технический университет "Военмех" им. Д.Ф.Устинова; abbreviated BGTU) is a major Russian military technical university situated in Saint Petersburg. Previously it was known as the Leningrad Mechanical Institute (Russian: Ленинградский механический институт) and Military Mechanical Institute (Russian: Военно-механический институт).
History
Milestones in the history of the University:
- The University was established by order of the People's Commissariat of Heavy Industry of the USSR on February 26, 1932 as the Leningrad Military Mechanical Institute.
- Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR 18 November 1944 from the Leningrad Military Mechanical Institute was awarded the Order of the Red Banner.
- In accordance with the Council of Ministers on June 17, 1959 Order of the Red Banner Leningrad Military Mechanical Institute was transferred to the RSFSR Council of Ministers with the name of the Red Banner Leningrad Mechanical Institute.
- Presidium of the Supreme Soviet on June 10, 1980 - Leningrad Mechanical Institute was awarded the Order of Lenin.
- In accordance with the decision of the CPSU Central Committee, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR Council of Ministers on 27 December 1984 from Leningrad Mechanical Institute named Marshal Ustinov DF.
- Order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the USSR on January 15, 1985 - Leningrad Mechanical Institute was renamed the Lenin and the Order of the Red Banner Institute of Mechanics named after Marshal Ustinov DF.
- In accordance with the decision of the RSFSR State Committee for Science and Higher Education on February 11, 1992 - Leningrad Order of Lenin and the Order of the Red Banner of Mechanical Institute. Marshal DF Ustinov renamed St. Petersburg Order of Lenin and the Order of the Red Banner of Mechanical Institute. Marshal DF Ustinov, who by order of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Technical Policy of the Russian Federation dated December 7, 1992 renamed the Baltic State Technical University. DF Ustinov.
- Order of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation of September 11, 1997 - Baltic State Technical University, Renamed Ustinov Baltic State Technical University, DF Ustinov, who 20 December 2002 included in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities as a state institution of higher professional education Baltic State Technical University.
- In accordance with the Federal Government on March 9, 2006- State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education Baltic State Technical University . DF Ustinov reorganized through merger of the Federal Scientific Institution National Center for High Technology.
- The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation dated May 3, 2011 -State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education Baltic State Technical University. DF Ustinov renamed the Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education Baltic State Technical University[1]
