Bagasara is a city and a municipality in Amreli district in the state of Gujarat, India. It is famous as birthplace of renowned poet and freedom fighter Zaverchand Meghani and famous magician K Lal from Mavjinjava village.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Bagasara had a population of 31,789. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Bagasara has an average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 56% of the males and 44% of females literate. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age. Its history shows that in the olden days, it was known as a Pith meaning a big trading centre. It was famous for Gold Plated Jewellery and Ari Bharat industries. It has given to the world two great personalities. First is National Poet Zaverchand Meghani and second is international magician K Lal . The great singer of Gujarat Mr. Praful Dave also hails from Hadala (Sorath), Ta: Bagasara. Bagasara It was famous for Imitation Gold Plated Jewellery and Ari Bharat industries.
