Badger Hill (also, Badger Hill Diggings)[2] is a former settlement in Nevada County, California. It is situated at an elevation of 2,552 ft (778 m) above sea level.[3]
History
In autumn 1849, the first immigrants who came to Grass Valley, California as part of the California Gold Rush erected a cabin half a mile from the town of Badger Hill.[4] Badger Hill became a hydraulic mining district in the 1850s.[5] The Badger Hill and Cherokee Gravel Mining Company was incorporated in 1869.[6]
