Azen Gushnasp

Azen Gushnasp, also known by the Arabicized form of Azin Jushnas, was a Sasanian nobleman who served as minister under Hormizd IV. He was from Khuzestan in Southern Iran.[1]

It seems that when the spahbed Bahram Chobin won a great victory over the Turks, Azen became jealous and accused the general of having kept the best part of the booty to himself and only sending a small part to the king. Bahram, however, later rebelled against Hormizd IV, who sent Azen Gushnasp to suppress the rebellion. Azen Gushnasp, was, however, killed in Hamadan.
