Avilés is one of the six parishes (administrative divisions) in Avilés, a municipality of the same name, within the autonomous community and province of Asturias, in northern Spain.[2] With a population density of 8,996 inhabitants per km², it is one of the most densely populated locations in the Principality. The parish comprises 34,244 housing units.[3]
