Avanthika Mohan

Avanthika Mohan is an Indian actress and model. She made her debut in Yakshi – Faithfully Yours and was later seen in films including Crocodile Love Story (2012) and Mr. Bean (2013).^[1] 2014 she made her Tamil debut with Aalamaram. Her 2013 film Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi was a commercially successful .^[2]

Early life

Avanthika Mohan was born and bought up in Dubai.^[3] She returned to Kerala to pursue a modelling career and won the Miss Malabar 2011 title ^[4] and also the subtitle Miss Perfect 2010. She wanted to be a dancer and had taken training for it but after winning the beauty pageant, she began to receive acting offers and decided to enter the film industry.^[3]

She made her debut in the 2012 experimental film Yakshi – Faithfully Yours,^[2] directed by Abhiram Suresh Unnithan, featuring all newcomers in the lead roles.^[5] The film saw Avanthika playing the titular character of a "snake ghost" named Nagayakshi, a snake who turns into a woman after coming to the planet.^[6] 2013 she was part of the comedy flick Mr. Bean,^[7] after which she was seen in Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi,.^[2][8] She next played a lead role in crocodile love story. She made her Tamil film debut with the horror film Aalamaram (2014).^[2][9] Her next releases were Vundile Manchi Kalam Mundu Munduna, her first Telugu film,^[10] and debutant director Shyam Mohan's thriller 8:20 released and the movie went on well she got good appreciation for her performance from the Critics and the audiences.^[11] Among her upcoming films is Male Baruva Munna.^[12]
