Auxesis (figure of speech)

Auxesis (Greek: αὔξησις, aúxēsis) is the Greek word for "growth" or "increase". In rhetoric, it refers to two unrelated forms of increase:

In Ancient Greece, it was also sometimes known as auxanein ("growing").
