August "Ago" Neo (12 February 1908 in Vihterpalu, Estonia – 19 August 1982 in Aarhus, Denmark) was an Estonian wrestler and Olympic medalist.
1936 Summer Olympics
Neo competed at the age of 28 for Estonia in the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany and won the silver medal in the Freestyle Light Heavywight competition and the bronze medal in the Greco-Roman Light Heavyweight match. Neo's achievements at the Games were underscored by fellow countryman Kristjan Palusalu, who won two gold medals in wrestling events.
Later life
During World War II Neo emigrated to Sweden. He established a small transport company and worked as a truck driver. He worked there for the rest of his life until his death on 19 August 1982 in Denmark, on the road from Germany to Sweden. August Neo was first buried at Stockholm but in 1998 reburied at the Metsakalmistu cemetery in Tallinn, Estonia.
