audioBoom (originally called Audioboo[4]) is a website and an application for iOS and Android. audioBoom allows users to listen to, record and share sound files.
The company is based in London with offices in New York, San Francisco, and Sydney. It became AIM-listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2014 as Audioboo Group Limited (AIM: BOOM). The company changed the name of the application from AudioBoo to audioBoom in September 2014.[5]
Technology
audioBoom allows smartphone and website users to record, upload, and playback digital audio recordings. Users can then listen on the audioBoom website, embedded in a user's own website, Twitter, Facebook or Tumblr feed.
Registration is no longer optional and is required for all usage of the site. There is currently no upper limit to how many clips a user can upload, making the site popular with audio bloggers, diarists, journalists, teachers, and podcasters.
Clips can be uploaded via:
- iPhone, iPad, Android device or Blackberry 10 device
- The Official Website
- Email ("BooMail")
- IVR phone lines ("PhoneBoom")
