The Rio Pescado stubfoot toad, Atelopus balios, is a species of toad in the family Bufonidae endemic to Ecuador. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and rivers. It is threatened by habitat loss.[1] It was previously thought to be extinct,[2] but was recently rediscovered in a hunt for missing amphibians.[3]
