Ashley Taylor (born 17 March 1995) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who currently plays for the Gold Coast Titans in the National Rugby League. He plays at halfback and five-eighth and previously played for the Brisbane Broncos.

Background

Born in Toowoomba, Queensland, Taylor played his junior rugby league for the Toowoomba Brothers, before being signed by the Brisbane Broncos.

Playing career

Early career

From 2013 to 2015, Taylor played for the Brisbane Broncos' NYC team.[1][2] In June 2013, he re-signed with the Broncos on a 3-year contract.[3]

2015

On 2 May, Taylor played for the Junior Kangaroos against Junior Kiwis.[4] On 8 July, he played for the Queensland under-20s team against the New South Wales under-20s team.[5] On 5 August, he signed a 2-year contract with the Gold Coast Titans starting in 2016, after being released from the final year of his Broncos contract to pursue a first-grade opportunity.[6] In Round 26 of the 2015 NRL season, he made his NRL debut for the Broncos against the Melbourne Storm.[7] He suffered a game-ending compound fracture to a finger on his right hand in the 28th minute.[8] On 14 September, he was named at halfback in the 2015 NYC Team of the Year.[9]
