Asara (Persian: آسارا, also Romanized as Āsārā)[1] is a city in and the capital of Asara District, in Karaj County, Alborz Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population (including the amalgamated villages) was 1,030, in 282 families; Asara village alone had a population of 430, in 125 families.[2]
The city of Asara was formed from the former villages of Asara, Rey Zamin, Sira, and Pol-e Khvab.
