Undavalli Arun Kumar (born 4 August 1954), is a former Member of Parliament in India. He represented the Indian National Congress from Rajahmundry parliamentary constituency of Andhra Pradesh in 2009.[1]

Early life

Arun Kumar was born in Undavalli,Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. He did his B.Com from Govt. College, Rajahmundry and Bachelor of Law from C. R. Reddy Law College, Eluru.

Career

Arun Kumar actuvely participated in 1972 Jai Andhra movement as a student. He runs a weekly, Eevaram Janavaarta, a publication on contemporary political issues.

Political career

In 2004 and 2009, he won the Lok Sabha elections from Rajahmundry. In 2009, he won against two prominent film actors, Telugu Desam Party candidate Murali Mohan and another film star U. V. Krishnam Raju.[2]

Translation

Arun Kumar acted as translator of Congress party president Sonia Gandhi and ex president Rahul Gandhi. He was a member of Congress Working Committee.

Personal life

Arun Kumar is married to Jyoti and has a daughter Shravanti.
