Archdeacon of Hackney

The Archdeacon of Hackney is a senior ecclesiastical officer within the Diocese of London.[1] As such he or she is responsible for the disciplinary supervision of the clergy[2] within its three area deaneries: Hackney, Islington and Tower Hamlets.[3]

The archdeaconry was created from London archdeaconry by Order-in-Council on 2 March 1951.[4] The most recent incumbent was Rachel Treweek, Bishop of Gloucester.[5]
