Araga Jnanendra is a politician and chairman of Mysore Paper Mills.

Early life and education

Araga Jnanendra was born in 1953 in Hisana near Araga, Thirthahalli. He received his primary education in Araga before continuing his education at a high school in Rashtriya Shikshana Samsthe, Konandur. He graduated from B Com Acharya Tulasi College, Shimoga. While at university he was selected as the leader of Students Group and selected as President of ABVP for Shimoga District.

During the 1975 Emergency he took the leadership of the Janata Party Movement. He was imprisoned for his actions.
