Arab Health is a healthcare conference and trade show in the Middle East.[1] It first took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in 1975. Healthcare industry representatives attend from the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the US. In 2015, it celebrates its 40th year of operation and will take place from 26–29 January in Dubai.Arab Health Congress 2016 takes place from 25-28 January and majorly focus on 3D bioprinting such as smart bioinks[2]
Exhibition and congress
Arab Health is held at the Dubai International Convention Centre. Expansions to the existing structure in 2010 allow for a large number of exhibiting companies, conference delegates and visitors. In 2015 4,000 exhibitors, 11,000 delegates and 95,000 visitors are expected.[3]
The congress is one of the world's largest medical conferences.[4] Delegates receive an accreditation certificate that can be used towards maintaining their annual quota of continuing medical education credits, which are now necessary to renew medical practicing licenses in the UAE.
Arab Health is supported by the UAE Ministry of Health, the Abu Dhabi Health Authority, the Dubai Health Authority and the Dubai Healthcare City Authority.
MEDLAB
A medical laboratory exhibition with its own conferences is featured as part of the wider event. Laboratory products, materials and services are on display. 440 exhibitors attended MEDLAB in 2014.
Awards
Awards are given for innovation and achievement in the industry. They include awards for radiology, surgery, laboratory work, patient-centred care, and clinicians.
