April and the Extraordinary World (French title: Avril et le Monde truqué), also titled April and the Twisted World, is a 2015 French-Belgian-Canadian animated film directed by Christian Desmares and Franck Ekinci. Marion Cotillard plays the title role. The film is an adaptation of the graphic novel by Jacques Tardi.

Plot

France, 1941. Napoleon V rules France and for the last 70 years, scientists have been mysteriously disappearing, depriving mankind of their inventions. Avril (Marion Cotillard), a teenage girl, goes in search of her parents, two of the missing scientists.

The first poster of April and the Extraordinary World was released on 21 June 2015.[4]

StudioCanal released the first trailer on 18 September 2015.[5]

Release

The film had its world premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on 15 June 2015. StudioCanal released the film in France on 4 November 2015. O'Brother Distribution released it in Belgium on the same day. Gkids will release the film in US in 2016.[6]
