Early years

He played high school football at Holy Trinity High School.[1] He then played college football for the University of Maine Black Bears. There he played several positions: fullback, H-back, quarterback, and holder on extra point and field goal attempts.[2]

Professional career

Jacksonville Jaguars

He was a prospect of the 2008 NFL Draft, but was not selected. He signed an undrafted rookie free agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.[3] He plays alongside former University of Maine teammate, Montell Owens.

After suffering a season-ending injury during the preseason, Cotrone was waived by the Jaguars on August 4, 2008. He was added to the injured reserve list the following day. He was later re-signed to the team, only to be waived on April 29, 2009.

New York Giants

Cotrone was asked to try out for the 2010 New York Giants. He participated at their rookie mini-camp.
