Anomaly (communications agency)

Anomaly is an American marketing communications agency founded in 2004 in New York. The agency has offices in New York, London, Amsterdam, Toronto, and Shanghai.[1]

The agency does not bill by hours worked, but instead charges a fee up front or takes a proportion of equity in the property advertised.[2]

Clients

Anomaly has worked for companies ranging from Virgin America and Diesel to the Keep a Child Alive Foundation, and Disney.

Currently, the agency works for ABInBev ( Anheuser-Busch), Converse, Diageo, Duracell,[3] Google, MINI, Panera Bread, PepsiCo, and P&G.

Additionally, Anomaly maintains joint intellectual property ventures with Avec Eric, the Reserve Channel, EOS (evolution of smooth), and Best Bars.

Awards and recognition

Anomaly was named by Adweek in their 2010 'Agency of the Year' report as an 'Insurgent';[4] by Fast Company as one of their 'Innovation All Stars';[5] again by Fast Company as one of the 'World's 50 Most Innovative Companies';[2] by AdAge as part of their 'Agency A-List' report;[6] and by BusinessWeek as a 'Cutting-Edge Designer'.[7]

Additionally, the agency has received Cannes Gold and Cyber Lions awards at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival for the Diesel Be Stupid campaign, as well as for their "Captain's Conquest" mobile gaming platform developed for Captain Morgan, and the Converse "History Made, and in the Making" film.; Gold Media Effies for Converse and 'Keep a Child Alive' Foundation; a Mercury Music Prize for Converse; an Effie for IP venture 'EOS'; as well as two Emmy Awards and a James Beard Foundation award for joint-venture culinary arts brand, 'Avec Eric'.[8]
