Aniboom is an online production studio that makes animation by reaching out to its database of over 9,500 creators who are located around the globe.[2] As Aniboom is a web-based, rather than brick and mortar, studio, it finds and recruits talent by offering opportunities, work and an animation community where animators can promote themselves.
Aniboom offers production work, syndication and/or production deals, either on TV or the web, for popular submissions. Animators are encouraged to submit their work and be featured on the Aniboom YouTube Channel which has a high ranking. Aniboom helps animators build their name and reputation in the industry, as it puts the artists name in the title, tags and text. While most of content submitted to Aniboom is original, some of the content can be found on other video sharing sites.
Background
Aniboom's CEO is former Israeli television executive Uri Shinar. The company was founded in 2006.
Aniboom Virtual Studio
The Aniboom Virtual Studio (AVS) is an animation studio with an online collaborative work platform that allows Aniboom to work with professional animators located anywhere in the world. The studio hires 2D and 3D story artists, character and location designers, animators, modelers, riggers, texture artists, matte painters, location artists, lighters, supervisors and production managers.
Aniboom Opportunities
Aniboom works with clients to provide Opportunities for the animator community. Some of these have been: Aniboom 4 Sesame Street and the Saatchi & Saatchi Nothing is Impossible Challenge. Animators submit their work to win prizes - which could be money, or the chance to work with a major worldwide brand.
Previously, Aniboom has held competitions in which original animated movies were submitted for judgment by both a jury and Aniboom community members.[3] One Grand Winner was elected, while six top choices – three elected by the jury and three by the community - were also given cash rewards. In addition, 43 other videos were given honorable mention. All winners received a selection of animation software and related literature. The judges form a select panel of senior animation and marketing professionals. The 2008 panel included Yair Landau, former president of Sony Pictures Digital.
In 2008, the winning video was Sebastian’s Voodoo by Joaquin Baldwin. Past Grand Winners are Aymeric Palermo for Jungle Jail (2007), and Jossie Malis for Machine (2006). In addition to prizes, Aniboom Awards winners receive a helpful amount of industry exposure that can lead to professional advancement. For example, Joaquin Baldwin was contracted to produce an original series together with aniBoom Creators Studio. Other winners have gone on to create spots for well-known media and corporate clients.[4]
