Andrew Philip LoCascio is an American TV host, fisherman, and web entrepreneur. He is the founder and owner of Sound Strategies, Inc a leading NY based web services provider specializing in search engine optimization and web presence development. He is a regular contributor to the SEO-Talk blog. Sound Stratgies has contributed to numerous high profile web applications including the Dan Abrams news and media sites - Mediaite, Geekosystem, SportsGrid, Styleite, The Jane Dough, The Mary Sue, and The Braiser. Andy and his team were responsible for the recent facelift for The Supreme Court of the United States blog (scotusblog - Winner of the 2012 Peabody Award[1]). Other high profile clients include Consumers Union (Consumer Reports).
LoCascio is also founder/CEO of SEO Tech, co-founder of Legal Marketing Innovations, and founder of Azores Eyewear.
He is the creator and co-host of Northeast Angling TV which features saltwater fishing from New Jersey through Maine. He also hosts the TV show World Explorer Notebook. In addition to Northeast Angling he has appeared on ESPN Outdoors with Byron Velvick on Going Coastal.[2] He has written numerous fishing articles for several major fishing magazines. "Captain" Andy is also a successful tournament angler with tournament victories for a variety of species.[3]
He is a respected international angler and an authority on marlin and tuna fishing in the Galapagos. He makes more than 20 speaking appearances every year and is frequently the featured speaker at many of the regional boat and sportsman shows.[4]
He is a licensed captain and the owner of Long Island Fishing Charters which provides fishing charters in the New York Western Long Island Sound.
he is the owner and trainer of two notable Potcakes (see Potcake Dog) Daisy and Dusty, born in Providenciales and owned by Andy LoCascio, are trained to locate fish through scent on the water and distant cries of feeding sea birds. They have been featured on television and in magazines, including Northeast Boating Magazine.[5]
Education
LoCascio graduated from Manhasset High School. He received a B.A. in computer science and B.S. in Management from SUNY Buffalo.
Career
Funaro Lufrano Associates
He began his computer career with Funaro-Lufrano, Associates located in New York City, NY. He started out as a programmer and in his 11-year career rose to senior project manager, designer, and consultant to numerous high profile clients including Major League Baseball, Flight Safety International, and Eagle Electric.
Sound Strategies - The Early Years
Andy founded Sound Strategies, Inc in 1995 and provided consulting and programming services for a wide variety of clients including his previous employer. During this time he created a unique set of high level computing language templates for the IBM AS400 that remain in wide use today.
Seaview Consulting
He joined the IT solutions provider Seaview Consulting in 1996 as a partner and eventually helped grow the business to well over 100 employees. Seaview Consulting was purchased by RCM technologies in 1998 and Andy stayed with the firm for three more years before once again going off on his own.
Northeast Angling & Long Island Fishing Charters
In late 2002 Andy co-founded Angling Productions, Inc. along with Rich Tenreiro,Scott Braun and Nancy LoCascio. Angling Productions produces the fishing TV show Northeast Angling. Northeast Angling features saltwater fishing from New Jersey through Maine. The program, Northeast Angling, made its debut on Oct. 4 on Fox Sports New York, a cable and satellite channel available on Long Island. It is also carried on the New England Sports Network and the national Sportsman Channel.[6] Northeast Angling is available free 24/7 on the eFishingTV Online Fishing Network.
"Captain" Andy is a prolific seminar speaker and has at least twenty appearances each year. He speaks on a variety of fishing topics. Andy is currently the president of Angling Productions, Inc.
At the same time he was creating Northeast Angling, he also secured his 100-ton Masters USCG Captains License. Soon after he created Long Island Fishing Charters which provides charter fishing trips in the New York Western Long Island Sound.
He is also the captain of the Team Triton/Mercury fishing team. The team won the 2008 FLW Outdoors Striped Bass Series.[7] They also entered the highest ever recorded two fish weight in the history of the event.[8]
Along with Nancy LoCascio, the duo have had more top ten tournament finishes than any other participants in the history of the competitive WICC Greatest Bluefish Contest including a win for Nancy in 2007 and two second place wins for Andy.[9][10]
Sound Strategies - Current
In early 2004 he once again focused his efforts on the IT world as he revived Sound Strategies and began specializing on search engine optimization (SEO), web & application design, and premium web hosting. He and his team have developed several unique partner link management (LinkMgr), keyword analysis, and rank monitoring tools.
