Andrew Wheeler (born 18 January 1988) is a New Zealand professional basketball player who last played for the Southland Sharks of the National Basketball League (NBL).
In September 2010, Wheeler was sentenced in the Dunedin District Court to seven months' home detention after admitting a charge of reckless disregard for safety when he struck a man in the face with a beer bottle at a Dunedin flat-warming party in March.[1] After managing just three games for the Sharks in 2010 because of the incident, he re-joined the squad in late April 2011 for the rest of the 2011 season.[2] He played two further seasons with the Sharks as he totalled 15 games over four NBL seasons, winning an NBL championship in the process.[3]
In 2015, Wheeler re-joined the Southland Sharks.[4]
