Andres Soriano Jr.

Andrés Soriano, Jr. (May 3, 1926 - March 19, 1984) was a Spanish Filipino businessman best known as the chief executive of San Miguel Corporation and A. Soriano Corporation (ANSCOR) from 1964 to 1984.[1] He was the son of Andrés Soriano, Sr.

Family

Soriano was born on May 3, 1926 to Andrés Soriano, Sr. and Carmen Montemar (Maria). He was the great grandson of Pedro Pablo Róxas and Carmen Róxas de Ayala (daughter of Antonio de Ayala and Doña Margarita Róxas de Ayala, progenitors of the prominent Róxas-Ayala-Zóbel clan). Soriano was a third cousin of Enrique J. Zóbel and Jaime Zóbel de Ayala.

Soriano was married to Maria Natividad. He had a daughter, Cristina, and three sons, Andrés III, Eduardo and Carlos

Death

Soriano died on March 19, 1984 at his home in Madrid, Spain. He was 58 years old.

The street in the Intramuros area of Manila formerly known as Calle Aduana was named “Andrés Soriano, Jr. Avenue” in his honour.
