Ananta Mandal (Bengali: অনন্ত মন্ডল) (born 5 February 1983) is an Indian artist.[1][2][3] He has been recognised with international and national honours for his painting.[4] His paintings are created in watercolour, oil and acrylic.[1]
Early life and education
Ananta Mandal spent his childhood in Chakdaha, West Bengal, in India. He graduated from Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata, Calcutta University (Kolkata) in 2007 with a degree in Bachelor of Visual Arts. [1]
Career
Ananta Mandal had his first solo show in 2004 at Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata. He has exhibited in numerous group shows and solo exhibitions in India and abroad and he has been invited as guest artist.[5] At present he lives and works in Mumbai, India.[6]
Most of his paintings are watercolor, acrylic and oil color based. His paintings depict realistic urban landscapes; city life, an old railway steam engine, a tropical desert, and the many moods of nature. He has gained recognition for his surrealistic paintings.[1] His works depict the atmosphere of Mumbai and Calcutta.[7][8][9][10]
