The American University in the Emirates, also known as AUE, is a private university located in the Dubai International Academic City in the United Arab Emirates.[2] The university was founded in 2006, because of the growing demand for higher education in the UAE and the region, with the objective of producing professionals, entrepreneurs, and academics to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
AUE is a rapidly growing university with high profiled faculty members and a supportive administration. The university partners with a number of academic, non-academic and corporate institutions and organizations around the world.
AUE is an approved university by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and is licensed by the Commission for Academic Accreditation to offer various undergraduate as well as graduate programs where students can earn bachelor's and master's degrees and is in process of offering PhDs.
At AUE, the multi-cultural workforce is encouraged to take advantage of the students’ knowledge, experience and skills which help foster commitment to, and growth of the university. AUE administrative and technical staffs play a key role in providing assistance to the university’s academic and non-academic programs and activities.

AUE is located at the Dubai International Academic City, in a remarkable campus with all modern educational amenities that support both curricular and extracurricular activities. Academic programs
The AUE offers a number of academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to these, the university offers language courses for TOEFL, IELTS, ELI and other professional training programs for the business world.

Student life
The Department of Student Affairs (DSA) has the vision of helping to build a unique learning community that enables a diverse student body to become responsible global citizens and future leaders as a result of experiencing a challenging learning environment at AUE, informed by cutting-edge scholarship.
DSA has a multi-faceted role, that begins from the time of a student's enrollment in the university until graduation, and continues even afterwards, by encouraging Alumni group participation. DSA collaborates with all other university units in one way or another towards the goal of producing high quality, co-curricular programs and services in a learning environment that supports students' holistic growth, and the acquisition of essential life skills in order to actualize their full potential to be responsible, engaged, and successful citizen leaders in a global environment.
