America's Court with Judge Ross is an American nontraditional/dramatized court show that has aired in syndication since September 20, 2010 produced by Entertainment Studios. The series features former Los Angeles County Superior Court judge Kevin A. Ross, presiding over small claims court cases using the transcripts of real small claims court cases acted out by paid actors, a common production template for all of Entertainment Studios' court programming. Former Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputy Bruce Thomas serves as the show's bailiff. The program films in Culver City, California. It was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 2012 for Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Program.
Production
On October 14, 2009, the program was announced for air ahead of the NATPE convention in January 2010.[1] With Access Hollywood Live, it is one of two programs still airing which premiered in syndication for the 2010-11 season.
On February 26, 2014, it was announced that America's Court has been renewed for its fifth and sixth seasons, which keeps the series on air through the 2015-16 broadcast season.[2]
Justice Central
As with other ES court programs, America's Court with Judge Ross airs on Allen's related Justice Central network.[3]
